In Boring Care, Yao Hai turned his 3-month residency studio at Taipei Artist Village into a long-term living space and gave this space a makeover by creating a scene with everything in dust cover as if he is about to go away for a long time.

He used large amount of colourful garbage bags to cover up all the furniture, living wares, windows, walls and other objects in the room, spontaneously obtaining a space in colour fantasy with psychedelic colours. Most importantly, this immersive sensation will satisfy visitors’ irrepressible urge to take pictures. However, such visual satisfaction isn’t the purpose of this project. In fact, Yao Hai precisely captured such extremely mundane experience, reproduced and presented it through this project, in order to prove such artistic strategy boring and to express doubts about it.
